Filipino-American boxer Nonito Donaire will headline a pay-per-view boxing card at Anaheim’s Honda Center on Saturday Dec. 4, 2010, replacing the previous Main Event fighter Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., son of Mexican boxing great Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., who had to pull out dude to illness.
Donaire will be fighting a bantamweight title elimination bout against a Ukrainian fighter who formerly trained under Freddie Roach, Wladimir Sidorenko, should Donaire win he has a very lucrative match-up in February against Mexico’s Fernando Montiel who holds the WBC and WBO bantamweight titles.
Nonito hopes to bring pride to the Filipinos just like the Pac-Man Manny Pacquiao has in recent years.
A WBC lightweight title fight will also be on the ppv card. WBC lightweight champion Humberto Soto vs. challenger Urbano Antillon.
