The 2010 United States midterm elections will determine who takes control of congress the Democrats or the Republicans. 37 of the 50 states will be voting to elect a new Governor, and some voters who are unhappy with the Obama administration may opt to vote for a Republican candidate.
The GOP looks to add more governors to their ranks and gain numbers in the state legislature. Republicans will need 40 seats to win the House, early polls indicate they might be able to achieve this. The Republicans would need a net gain of 10 to take over the Senate, this is a tough one for the Republicans because it would require them to win every close race to win it.
You also have the controversial Proposition “Prop 19” in California, should it pass it would signify the legalization of Marijuana in the state of California. California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is at the end of his term and the seat will be filled by either Republican Meg Whitman or former California Governor Jerry Brown.
