The ultra talented French Canadian, MMA fighter and UFC 170 pound champion, Georges “Rush” St-Pierre, met with the Pound 4 Pound best boxer in the world today, Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao, and the two worked out with coach Freddie Roach on the punch mitts.
The UFC sent over GSP to help promote MMA and Ultimate Fighting Championship in the country of the Philippines. UFC is the fastest growing sport brand in the United States and is quickly growing around the world. The UFC plans on expanding to parts of Asia like China and the Philippines.
During his trip to Manila, St-Pierre stopped by the Elorde boxing gym in Quezon City to pay a visit to boxing trainer Freddie Roach, who helped St-Pierre work on his boxing a few months ago, and to meet Filipino boxing superstar, and National treasure, Manny Pacquiao.
During the meeting, Pacquiao thanked GSP for his support, and GSP told Manny he was one of his Idols. If Manny Pacquiao defeats Antonio Margarito on November 13, St-Pierre shares the same wish that many fight fans do, and he hopes that Manny Pacquiao will fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. next–should Mayweather actually accept a fight with Pacquiao.
“I look forward to watching your next fight, hopefully, one day you’ll take on (Floyd) Mayweather and knock him out,” said St-Pierre.
