Singer and Actor, Eddie Fisher, who was married to Debbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Taylor, and Connie Stevens, passed away September 22, 2010 at the age of 82.
On September 9, 2010 Fisher had an accident and broke his hip, he had surgery and was recovering, but died 13 days later on Wednesday September 22, 2010 at his home in Berkeley, California, due to complications from hip surgery.
Fisher was known for divorcing actress Debbie Reynolds to marry sexpot Elizabeth Taylor, only for Liz Taylor to leave him three years later for actor Richard Burton.
Fisher’s divorce from Debbie Reynolds, who was America’s sweetheart at the time, ruined his career and it was never the same again. He gained a lot of negative criticism because Fisher and Reynolds were considered “America’s favorite couple,” and he was looked at as the bad guy, who broke Debbie Reynolds heart. Elizabeth Taylor was labeled as a home-wrecker when she married Fisher.
In the 1950s, Fisher sold millions of records with hit songs like, “Thinking of You,” “Any Time” and “Oh, My Pa-pa.”
He is survived by his three daughters, Carrie Fisher, from first wife Debbie Reynolds, Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher from third wife Connie Stevens. Fisher was married five times.
