The male lion at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, attacked one of the trainers in it’s enclosed habitat, leaving onlookers shocked at what they witnessed.
In the video of the lion attack it shows the two trainers, one in the middle between the female lions and the male lion, and one trainer leaning on the right side of the enclosure.
The trainer on the right side looks at the male lion straight in his eyes and moments later the male lion attacks the trainer.
It wasn’t a vicious attack, but more of an alpha male response. The male lion felt like the trainer was trying to challenge him by staring at him, so, he had to impose his will on the human trainer and show dominance. The male lion was basically claiming his territory and showing who the boss is.
In the video you can also see the female lion trying to calm down the situation. The trainer was alright and only had minor wounds that were taken care of with stitches at the hospital.
