Edward Nino Hernandez is not your typical 24-year-old Colombian man, he stands only 2 ft 3.46 in (70.21 cm) tall and weighs 22-pounds.
The Colombian, took over the mantle for Guinness World Records “Worlds shortest man” when the previous holder, China’s He Pingping, who stood 74 cm (2 ft 5 in) tall, passed away in March of 2010.
Nino lives in Bogota and enjoys reggaeton dancing, playing soccer, and wants to one day own a Mercedes-Benz car and travel the world.
“I am very happy to be recognized as the shortest man in the world. Every person is different and unique. The more unusual you are the more you should fight and work harder,” said Nino Hernandez.
The current shortest teenager, Nepal’s Khagendra Thapa Magar, will turn 18 on October 14, 2010, and was last measured at 2 ft 1.8 in tall; 2 inches shorter than Nino, and Magar will take over the title once he turns 18, making Nino’s reign as the Shortest man alive a short one.
You can pick up the Guinness World Records 2011 later this month, it will be launched on the 15th of September 2010 and is the latest edition. Guinness World Records is the globally-recognized authority on record-breaking achievements.
