Margarito, who was suspended for having “plaster-like inserts” in his handwraps before his loss to Shane Mosley in 2009, went to the California State Athletic Commission recently to be reinstated, but he was rejected by the panel with a 5 to 1 majority vote against licensing the former welterweight champion.
Bob Arum the promoter of Pacquiao and Margarito had Margarito apply for a boxing license in Texas and Margarito was approved Thursday by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito fight will be held at the new Jerry Jones Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas, on November 13, and broadcast by HBO PPV and accompanied with an HBO 24/7 series to build-up the event.
