Manny Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, set up a deadline for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to answer if he wants the fight with Pacquiao or not, Floyd has till midnight July 16 to respond.
Arum wants to get the paper work done already so they have time to build up the super-fight before November 13, 2010 and Manny Pacquiao wants to get back in the ring. If Mayweather opts out, then, Arum will go to plan B and that is to match Pacquiao up with another fighter available such as Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito.
Manny Pacquiao is a very busy man and he’s made it known that he is juggling two jobs; congressman and boxer. Bob Arum is trying his hardest to make the super-fight the sporting world wants to see and went over the terms with Pacquiao and his camp trying to work around Manny’s busy schedule to find space open for him to have a full training camp to prepare for a fight and November is one of the few date openings that Pacquiao and HBO has open.
Golden Boy promotions who handles Floyd Mayweather Jr. hasn’t said much on the matter, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. doesn’t seem eager to take on the task of fighting the Filipino dynamo from Gen San.
