Two Filipino boxers fight tonight on the Showtime cable network, Bernabe Concepcion and Nonito Donaire.
Bernabe Concepcion is the protege of boxing superstar, Manny Pacquiao, and trains under Freddie Roach and Buboy Fernandez at Wild Card gym.
Concepcion will be an underdog when he faces the undefeated Puerto Rican feather weight champion, Juan Manuel Lopez, and wants to follow Manny Pacquiao’s footsteps and try to take the WBO 126-pound title from Lopez like Pacquiao did against Puerto Rican WBO welterweight champ Miguel Cotto.
Nonito Donaire will be the co-main event before the Lopez vs. Concepcion title fight. Donaire is being touted as the next Manny Pacquiao and is fighting hungry young Mexican fighter, Hernan Marquez also known as “Tyson” Marquez because of his knock out power. Donaire vs. Marquez will be a super-flyweight fight.
