Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel sentenced troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, 24, to 90-days in jail on Tuesday for violating her probation terms for a 2007 drug case. Part of Lohan’s sentence includes an inpatient drug rehab program once she is released from jail.
In 2007, Lohan was in jail for 84 minutes after she plead guilty to 2 misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to 2 counts of driving under the influence (DUI) of Alcohol with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and and one count of reckless driving.
When Judge Revel gave her ruling, Lohan erupted in tears and was in a very emotional state. The Judge issued the sentence upon hearing several testimonies from employees of an alcohol treatment program Lohan was attending.
Lohan apologized but the Judge wasn’t moved by it, Judge Revel thought Lohan’s apology was insincere, and likened it to “somebody who cheats and thinks it isn’t cheating if she doesn’t get caught.”

Lindsay Lohan must surrender to authorities on July 20, 2010 to begin her jail sentence. She will wear an ankle alcohol monitor until then.
It is unclear how many of the 90-days Lohan will actually spend in jail. An L.A. Sheriff’s spokesperson Steve Whitmore said most female inmates who are convicted of nonviolent misdemeanors serve about a quarter of their sentence but that can be further reduced by state credits.
Lindsay Lohan might be released early and put on house arrest, but it would all depend on Judge Revel’s orders.
