Pacquiao needs to continue fighting beyond his next bout come November 13 regardless whoever he faces inside the boxing ring if he intends to flourish his political aspiration in the Philippines.
His recent political victory cost him not less than 100-million pesos ($ 2.25 millions). That is a lot of money to spend for a congressional representative who who is monthly salary is 40,425 pesos per month.
Being a professional boxer and at the same time a politician works for Pacquiao’s advantage. His excellent performance in the ring makes him worldwide celebrity that magnet people in times of campaign trail should he plan to step upward his political ambitions.
Pacquiao has mountain of task ahead to prove his worth of being a good politician. He needs to be transparent in spending his pork barrel (which I believe he would) and effective in representing his constituent in the lone province of Sarangani, Philippines.
Having said of being transparent, he has to spend wisely the money allocated for him from the National government (pork barrel) in a way that the ordinary folks would feel development in his represented province; otherwise, his fellow citizens will judge him as failure to carryout his mission.
The effectiveness of Manny Pacquiao of being a congressman is that he should not harboured or defended his cohort and crony who might become spoiled brat that will tarnish his political name and ambitions and deal with equality and fairness in running the province.
Pacquiao, when continued his boxing profession will provide him an overflowing source of fund that he needs for his next political move. It is also a source of political manoeuvre to hound political support as his wins mean a lot of pride for the nations, boxing fans and ordinary Filipino citizen alike.
For Manny Pacquiao, the more fights he will have in the boxing ring, the bigger changes he will become the next president of the Philippines — for me I will vote for him provided he can KO his political opponent i.e. irradiate if not lessen the poverty in his region.
