The clock is ticking and once again the final decision on whether or not the Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight happens lies in the hands of Floyd “Money” Mayweather. Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum told BoxingScene.com that the negotiations for the proposed Pacquiao/Mayweather fight are finished and now it’s up to Floyd Mayweather Jr. to make the fight happen.
“We’re waiting on Floyd Mayweather. Floyd has to decide whether he’s going to fight this year or next year or not at all,” Arum said. “It’s up to him, man. He isn’t up to any obligation. We want a fight this year, and if he doesn’t take the fight this year, then we’ll find somebody else.”
Arum is giving Floyd Mayweather a two week notice, if he doesn’t agree to the fight, then, Manny Pacquiao will move on and fight Antonio Margarito or Miguel Cotto in a rematch, possibly, at the Dallas Cowboys NFL football stadium where Manny Pacquiao last fought against Joshua Clottey in March.
Some fans question if Floyd Mayweather Jr. is willing to risk his flawless undefeated record against a tough, prime, and ferocious fighter like the “Pacman” Manny Pacquiao or just retire with his undefeated record intact. The money involved is hard to pass up, so, this could be a chance worth taking for Floyd Mayweather Jr. who is known for his heavy gambling and lavish spending sprees.
