When it was perceived that global warming is a man-made climate change, then there would be a man-made climate solution to the problem.
Warming of the planet is unequivocal — global warming constitutes to climate change and it’s everyone concern. It maybe mankind’s largest challenge in the 21st century: man-made climate change.
Severe global warming is caused by build-up of the air pollutants (greenhouse gases) in our earth’s troposphere. The main source of the greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) Nitrous oxide (N20) and other particulates that traps the heat from the sun close to earth, and caused the warming rays from the sun being reflected back out of earth’s atmosphere – on average, CO2 stays more than a hundred years in the atmosphere. Scientists were in consensus that the burning of carbon-based fuels, notably wood, coal and oil at the accelerated rate for the past decades were the main driver for the building-up of carbon dioxide in the troposphere. Eleven of the last twelve years (1995-2006) rank among the twelve warmest years in the instrumental record of global surface temperature since 1850. The linear warming trend over the 50 years from 1956 to 2005 (0.130C ± 0.030C vs. 0.070C ± 0.020C per decade) is nearly twice that for the 100 years from 1906 to 2005. {Source: IPPC 4th assessment report WGI 3.2, SPM}.

Global Warming broader and deeper effects on our planet earth are extreme events of:
* Floods
* droughts
* hurricanes
*avalanches
*diseases
* plant and animal extinction
* Rising sea levels due to thermal expansion and ice melt
Despite of the unprecedented efforts by group of nations to mitigate the warming of the planet, until today, the concrete actions and solutions (halving the world greenhouse gas emissions by 2050) are hampered due to political and economic differences between developed and developing countries. A Chinese official had said that Beijing would treat talks on a binding global climate change pact in 2010 as a struggle over the “right to develop,” signaling more tough deal-making would follow after the Copenhagen summit that was held on December 2009.
When it was perceived that global warming a made-made climate change, then there would be a man-made climate solution to the problem. Contrary to ‘greenhouse gases that caused to trap the heat from the sun from being reflected back out of earth’s atmosphere, the ‘sulfate aerosol’ that remained in the atmosphere were thought to cause surface cooling by reflecting the sun’s energy back into space. The main sulfate precursors are sulfur dioxide (S02) usually from volcanic eruption and dimethyl sulfide (DMS) from bionic sources. These so called sulfate aerosols remain only for a short period of time compared to greenhouse gases.
Aerosols from explosive volcanic eruptions contribute an additional episodic cooling term for a few years following an eruption.
Mount Pinatubo volcano in the Philippines had its ultra-Plinian eruption (Plinian eruptions is marked by columns of gas and volcanic ash extending high into stratosphere, a high layer of the atmosphere) with VEI-6 magnitude and were shots nearly 20 million tons of sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere. “After the eruption of Pinatubo in June 1991, the global temperature decreased by 0.2 degrees Celsius in the troposphere,” said Renato Solidum, director of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs).

As volcanic eruption contribute to cooling the planet, surely, we cannot rely on volcano eruptions to mitigate global warming — in super-eruptions, the toll on human society and nature are frightening.
By applying Geo-engineering an artificial inseminations of the sulfate aerosols into the stratosphere, particularly sulfur dioxide could be the alternative viable solution to mitigate global warming. Nathan Myhrvold who studies
: mathematics, geophysics, and space physics explains how Geo-engineering works, during his exclusive interview with Fareed Zakaria’s GPS program in CNN, that running a hose up to the stratosphere with balloons and using that hose to pump out enough sulfur particles to dim the sun’s heat just enough to counteract the effect of global warming. It could be viable option B in tackling the climate change phenomenon, without cutting our greenhouse gasses emissions to the degree that could alter our way of living — the estimated cost would be about two hundred and fifty million Dollars only, Nathan Myhrvold added further.
The increasing resistance to the idea of arbitrarily cutting back on carbon emissions that led to causing wrenching disruptions in economic growth and personal lifestyles, group of nations should look into alternative solutions that might be even simpler and cheaper. The climate gate scandal involving leaked emails suggest that the idea of man caused global warming has been doctored to some extent, and the frightening idea of global warming is to scale back the development of the fast growing nations.
