Director Kevin Tancharoen, known for the recent film remake of FAME, released an 8-minute short or trailer on YouTube of Mortal Kombat: Rebirth. The trailer features Michael Jai White as Brigg/Jax, Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade, Lateef Crowder as Baraka, Ian Anthony Dale as Scorpion and Matt Mullins as Johnny Cage. The fight choreography was done by Larnell Stovall who worked on the movie Undisputed 3.
It’s rumored that the 8-minute YouTube promo was shot to pitch a new version of Mortal Kombat to the Warner Bros. studios in hopes to get the green light for the film, another rumor is the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth video is just a live-action teaser for a new video game announcement coming up at E3.
Whether or not the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth YouTube video is for a Video Game promo or for a film version, the trailer already has MK fans buzzing in anticipation.
