The peoples champ, Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao, and his lawyers believe that Oscar De La Hoya, the Mayweathers, and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer are all jealous of his accomplishments and are conspiring to ruin his name and image to the public out of spite.
In an in-depth report by GMAnewsTV, Pacquiao lawyers David Marroso and Daniel M. Petrocelli claim that “Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer and founder Oscar De la Hoya – had harbored animus towards Manny Pacquiao” because they are jealous of his accomplishments.
The bitterness comes from past situations such as, the lawsuit over Golden Boy trying to lure Pacquiao out of his Top Rank contract in 2007, and Pacquiao defeated a string of Golden Boy fighters including sending Oscar De La Hoya into retirement.
The article also mentions several different false statements the Mayweathers, Oscar De La Hoya and CEO Richard Schaefer made regarding steroids usage in order to tarnish Pacquiao’s good name and conspire to cast a shadow of doubt over the Filipino slugger.
Pacquiao was never suspected of using steroids or tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in his entire career, but the Golden Boy and Mayweather camps tried to plant a seed of doubt in the public’s mind by openly accusing Manny Pacquiao of taking steroids, a move that was made out of jealousy and resentment towards Pacquiao.
Richard Schaefer told Ronnie Nathanielsz a reporter for the Manila Standard Today and philboxing.com that he was “Sure” Pacquiao was taking and had taken performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).
Roger Mayweather told The Boxing Truth radio show that he believed Manny Pacquiao was bullet proof and on something called A-side methamphetamine’s.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. made a comment in front of reporters and fans during his press tour for Mayweather vs. Shane Mosley that “Pacquiao’s got the power pellets, yo, and the steroid juice.”
Mayweather Sr. said that “The steroids aren’t going to make Pacquiao no faster. It’s going to make him relentless and hit strong, but that’s it.”
Oscar De la Hoya wrote in his Blog for Ring Magazine saying Manny Pacquiao’s punching power when he fought him felt similar to that of Fernando Vargas and Sugar Shane Mosley who fought Oscar while on steroids and PEDs. Just months earlier De la Hoya said the something completely different when talking about Pacquiao’s punching power he said that Manny Pacquiao didn’t hit hard at all and he didn’t really hurt him when they fought.
