After being hit by relentless tropical storm Agatha, in Guatemala City today Monday, May 31, a truly frighting sight emerged in Guatemala City, in the form of an unusually deep sinkhole.
A sinkhole is a natural depression or hole in the surface topography caused by the removal of soil or bedrock, often both, by water.
The sinkhole in Guatemala was like a bottomless pit and looked like something out of a science fiction movie.
This is not the first time Guatemala faced a giant sinkhole, in February of 2007 they were hit with a sinkhole 100.5 m (330 ft) deep, that was apparently created by liquid from a sewer dissolving the rock underneath.
