Dennis Hopper the creator of “Easy Rider” passed away at his Venice Beach residence today, he was 74-years-old.
Hopper was surrounded by family and friends, he died of Prostate cancer, a disease battled since 2009 when he was diagnosed.
His Hollywood career was filled with bright moments and lows, he acted alongside Hollywood icon James Dean in “Rebel without a cause” and “Giant” and starred in classics like “Easy Rider,” “Apocalypse Now” and “Blue Velvet”.
In March of 2010 he received his star on the Hollywood walk of fame, accompanying him was good friend and co-star of “Easy Rider” Jack Nicholson, Viggo Mortensen, David Lynch and Dwight Yoakam also were present.
He was a Hollywood outsider, a rebel, but overall an artist who stayed true to his craft. He will be missed.
