Dear TFC subscribers;
I would like to seek your support in my crusade by encouraging the TFC subscriber not to support the following television shows/programs who are exploiting our kababayans:
SHOWTIME – Where Vice Ganda who always make “funny” but sometimes offensive comments on the contestants that seemingly aims to delight the television viewers and their studio audience. I think Vice Ganda should focus more his comments on the performance and talents of the contestants, instead of making nasty comments on them;
WOWOWEE – Which encourages Filipinos to have a dole-out mentality by making the contestants look and appear too miserable and pitiful. They are even using this strategy to make the audience be entertained.
ROSALKA – The new telenovela of ABS-CBN where the lead actress Empress Schuck portrays the character of a “kuba” with an ugly face. This telenovela will encourage the viewers to regard persons with disabilities as poor, pathetic, and lesser of a person being normal.
The bottom line is, if ABS-CBN really cares for persons with disabilities, they should stop portraying or sending messages that persons with disabilities are freaks, “kawawa” at “api-pihan.”
FACE TO FACE – Is a program over TV Channel 5 which the format appears to be like a cockfight arena. The guests are exchanging vulgar words which sometimes beyond what are morally acceptable. If I may say it in Tagalog, I think that “ano man ang kanilang dahilan sa pagbubuo ng programang ito, natitiyak kong hindi ito tumutugma sa wastong kaisipan, kaugalian at kagandahangasal ng ating lahing Pilipino.”
I am really disturbed on the kind of programs we now have in our local television stations. I strongly believe that there is a need to address these concerns to relevant organizations like yours before they get worst.
I know that with the help of your organization, we can stop or correct these presentations they are giving to the viewing public
