Former light welterweight boxing champion Aaron “The Hawk” Pryor told OpposingViews.com that he likes Manny “The Pacman” Pacquiao in a fight against Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. should the two square off.
The 55-year old Pryor who is known for his two victories against the late Alexis Arguello, thinks that Mayweather is not going to handle Pacquiao’s barrage of punches and must prove himself by facing Pacman.
“I like Pac Man. I like Pac Man in the fight, I think Pac Man throws a lot of punches and I don’t think that Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather…I don’t think Mayweather is gonna be equipped to handle it. That’s just how I feel. But he’s proved himself so many times. But that’s what the fight game is about – every time you fight – prove yourself. I had 11 world title fights. Each time I fought one of those title fights it was about proving myself.”
It is not surprising that Pryor would choose Manny, both of them share a similar fighting style, and when Pacquiao first burst onto the American boxing scene he was drawing comparisons to Aaron Pryor and Henry Armstrong because he fought with a relentless and non stop come forward style like the two legends.
