Usually the Mayor of the city of Manila and sometimes city of Makati are always opposed to the incumbent Philippine President. This time it seems it will not happen because the Mayor of the city of Manila is still Mayor Alfredo Lim, and the city of Makati is Jejomar Jr. the son of former Mayor Jejomar Binay both are friends of Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, Jr. the newly elected President.
If being the case, there won’t be much demonstration and protest at this time. I hope the Senate will reduce its usual practice of investigation, they should concentrate on matters that will help improve the economy of the nation.
Remember, most of the Filipino millionaires and foreign investors hold offices both in Manila and Makati, and they develop good relations with the Mayor of those cities. Now, if these businessmen have good relations with the Mayors of these cities, and in turn the Mayors of these cities are with MalacaƱang Palace. Then any business transaction or investment will be successfully promoted, which will be very good for the economy of the Philippines.
So, if there are no demonstrations or protests, it is a reflection of good peace and order, and more investors will be attracted and tourism will be improved leading to the growth of Philippine economy. If more corporations and factories are built there will be more work and less OFW, allowing Filipino professionals to stay and make use of their skills.
It has been seen that Filipino’s are being separated from their loved ones because of seeking overseas employment, which is a painful and sad experience due to homesickness.
Whenever Philippine politics is mentioned, corruption is also attached with it. If economy is improved, then the salaries of the politicians, from the President to the local Officials will be increased, reducing the attraction for corruption and greed.
May religion guide their minds, heart and actions in dealing with their fellow politicians and constituents. For those who already gained wealth through corruption, they must at least use this money in a positive way building factories and corporations to help reduce unemployment. Also, give scholarships to deserving students from elementary all the way up to those studying for their doctorate degree, even sending them to foreign countries.
In this manner, corruption money will be used for a good purpose, but as much as possible corruption must be avoided.
When the welfare of the country comes, may the loyalty of the politicians to their parties end, so that unity comes into play leading to peace and improving economy of the Philippine nation, thus making the Filipino people happy and contented.
