Freddie Roach, the trainer of boxing champion, Manny Pacquiao, gave a brief interview discussing Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. with Boxingscene.com, while Roach was training UFC welterweight champion, Georges St.-Pierre at the Wild Card boxing gym in Hollywood.
Like usual Roach didn’t hold back his words and spoke his mind on the subject of his prized pupil, Manny Pacquiao, going up against the brash talker Floyd Mayweather Jr..
“He slowed down a little. He used to be a faster fighter. He doesn’t move like he used to. He fights more flat-footed. He changed his style [against Mosley] because he can’t use his legs anymore….his legs are not there. Mosley hurt him in the second round but he couldn’t finish [him]. I expected more [from Mosley]. Pacquiao is faster than Mayweather and he’s a stronger fighter. I think Pacquiao will knock Floyd out,” Roach told Boxingscene.com.
Negotiations for Mayweather-Pacquiao are closed door and Bob Arum and Team Mayweather/Golden Boy promotions have said this time around they will not talk about anything out in the open in order to get the fight done.
The super fight can either be at Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys stadium or Las Vegas, Nevada and it will probably be an HBO pay-per-view event.
