The peoples champion, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao told the Manila Bulletin that he will take the drug tests that Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. demanded of him when the fight was first proposed for March 13, 2010.
Pacquiao said he will agree only if they don’t take a large amount of blood too close to fight night.
“As long as they’re not getting a large amount of blood, I am willing to give out blood as close to two weeks before the fight,” Pacquiao told the Manila Bulletin.
“Huwag lang sa day ng fight (Never on fight day), malamang tuloy na (It might push through now),” said Pacquiao during his meet Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Manny and his promoter Bob Arum are looking at a November 2010 HBO pay-per-view date and Pacquiao stated that his mother Dionisia said she will allow him only one more fight, and that is with Floyd Mayweather Jr. after that he should retire.
If the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao boxing match cannot get made, Bob Arum’s plan B option is to pair Manny Pacquiao up with disgraced welterweight from Mexico Antonio Margarito at Dallas Cowboy stadium in Texas.
The question now is will Floyd Mayweather Jr. find another excuse to make the negotiations more difficult, or will he finally give the people and the boxing fans the fight they want to see?
