Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez the long time rival of Filipino boxing sensation Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is at it again and telling Boxingscene.com that Manny Pacquiao is scared to fight him in a rubber match.
“Maybe we could fight at 140 or maybe 141, 142. I know Pacquiao. I know how to fight Pacquiao. I know his style. I know how Pacquiao’s style is and I’m always one step ahead of him [when we fight]. I think 70% [the fight won’t happen]. Pacquiao is scared of me because he knows who won the fight. Why doesn’t he want to fight me?,” Marquez told BoxingScene.
Marquez and Pacquiao fought to a draw in their first match in 2004 and in 2008 Pacquiao won a split decision in the rematch.
Manny Pacquiao just won a congressional seat in the Philippines and is hoping to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in November.
Juan Manuel Marquez will fight Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz in a lightweight rematch on HBO Pay-per-view July 31.
