Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao defeated his latest opponent, not in the boxing ring, but in the political ring, when he won the majority of election votes on May 10 against Roy Chiongbian for the congressional seat in Sarangani.
Pacquiao stated that he will only fight one more fight and then retire from boxing, to please his mother Dionisia who has been pleading with her son to retire from the sport. The one opponent that Manny Pacquiao wants to fight the most is Floyd Mayweather Jr. The two fighters came to a crossroads when they had a disagreement over Olympic style blood testing. Pacquiao favored a 24-day cut off, while Mayweather’s side requested a 14-day cut off or no fight.
Michael Koncz, Pacquiao’s chief adviser, said that that Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 had been set aside for a fight at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. No opponent has been named, but some some possible matches have been discussed like Antonio Margarito and the winner of the June 5 HBO Yankee stadium bout between WBA light-middleweight champion Yuri Foreman and Miguel Cotto.
