Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, moved ahead of his two main rivals Villar and Estrada, according to recent independent presidential surveys, he has been leading in the May 10, Philippine presidential polls and is favored to win over fellow candidates, Manny Villar, and former disgraced President Joseph “Erap” Estrada.
Estrada, was ousted from the Philippine presidency in 2001 because of corruption charges but now is currently number 2 in the polls behind Aquino and in front of Manny Villar.
Noynoy is the brother of famous Philippine TV personality, Kris Aquino, and is the only son of former President Corazon Aquino and former Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr.,
Aquino learning of his lead in the poll surveys stated that if his huge lead in the surveys doesn’t translate in the polls winning the election, his followers will protest in the streets.
Aquino’s rival, and former Philippine President, Joseph Estrada wasn’t to happy with Noynoy’s confidence.
“He might want to take a lesson from his mother to speak with more humility. After all, the race is not yet over. May the best man win,” said the 73-year old Estrada.
