Manila, Philippines was hit with a magnitude 6.2 earthquake on Thursday. The quake lasted 30-seconds and so far no significant damage or injuries have been reported.
According to seismology institute Director Renato Solidum, the earthquake was centered off Lubang Island in Mindoro Occidental province, some 80 miles southwest of Manila, six miles beneath the seabed.
The last major earthquake in the Philippines was a magnitude 7.7 in 1990, it killed nearly 2,000 people on the main northern island of Luzon.
